To Washington Park, With Love Fun Run

RSVP:

Join Read & Run Chicago in collaboration with Urban Canopy and Haymarket Books for a three-mile run (12:00-13:00 minute per mile pace) or ride (12-14 mph) or two-mile walk through Washington Park. The event is inspired by To Washington Park, With Love, a collection of essays and photographs of the summer of 1987 celebrating Chicago, community life, and Black joy.

The first 30 attendees to arrive will receive a free copy of To Washington Park, With Love

After the route, stick around the Bronzeville Farmers Market for fresh produce, local vendors, and more.

Contribute: We’d love to hear your Washington Park stories. Email Allison Yates at allison@readandruntours.com or bring a photograph or written memory from Washington Park to contribute to our community collection on the day of the event.

The Bronzeville Farmers Market is run through the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) in collaboration with the Urban Canopy and the Southside Sanctuary.
