Running Tour of Chicago’s West Loop: Then and Now with author Connie Fairbanks

Join Read & Run Chicago Programs Manager Fernanda Wetzel for an easy-paced, 4-mile running tour through one of Chicago’s most visited–and most changed–neighborhoods: West Loop. Inspired by Connie Fairbank’s Chicago’s West Loop: Then and Now, you’ll run a route highlighting the history and culture of the West Loop, while learning about its rebirth that’s been four decades in the making.

Author Connie Fairbanks has lived in the West Loop longer than anywhere else, and this experience led her to document the area’s rich history. Chicago’s West Loop explores the people, businesses, buildings, and other sites and organizations from the mid-1800s into the 21st century.

After the run, readers & runners will meet Connie Fairbanks at Madison Street Books for an in-person Q&A with light bites and a chance to buy Read & Run Chicago merch, purchase your copy of Chicago’s West Loop and shop for other titles, and continue your learning of this area.
