Movement options include a 1.2-mile walk or a 3-mile run, with pace options 10:30-13:30 minute per mile.

After the route, stick around the Chinatown Branch of the Chicago Public Library for:

  • Browse books about running and Chicago

  • Sign up for your library card

  • Complimentary products courtesy of Propel and Chargel

We'll also give a special send off to the Family Style RC and Read & Run Chicago Chicago Distance Series Entries from Equity teams and wishing luck to all runners.

Here's the schedule:

9:30 AM – Doors Open

9:45 AM - Walk/Run

  • Runners will run three miles along the route in Chinatown

  • Walkers will walk a 1.2-mile route along the marathon course in Chinatown

10:30–11:30 AM - Post-shakeout celebration at the Chinatown Branch of the Chicago Public Library

After the shakeout run/walk, all are welcome to join Family Style RC founder Sany Nguyen for a group outing to the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Expo at McCormick Center.

All are welcome, whether you're running the marathon or you want a community run/walk. We're celebrating Chinatown, the marathon, book lovers, and Asian-American visibility.
