Meet Chicago’s Hottest New Club: Library Explorers

Chicago’s hottest club is…Library Explorers Club!

Thanks to the genius idea of our beloved guide (and podcaster/bookstagrammer!) Betsy, we’re now collaborating with the Chicago Public Library to co-host this once a month club—featuring an optional walk or run, branch tour, and reading—at one of the 82 branches.

You don’t have to identify as a library expert, reader, walker, or runner to participate—this program is designed as a non-judgement space for exploration. Join however is best for you.

If you’re been inspired by author Molly Page or reader & runner Fadiyla, now’s your chance move, learn, read, and celebrate Chicago and check branches off your list.

Here’s how it works:

1:30 PM Optional run or walk with Read & Run Chicago (run: ~12:00 minute per mile pace / walk: ~20:00-25:00 minute per mile pace)

2:00 PM Introduction to the branch – learn fun facts and insider history from a library staff member

2:30 PM Optional library card sign-up and quiet reading in the branch. Light snacks and drinks provided!

Schedule:

Oct 17: West Town (1625 W. Chicago Avenue)
Nov 21: Archer Heights (5055 S. Archer Avenue)
Dec 19: Lincoln Belmont (1659 W. Melrose Street)
Jan 9: Walker (11071 S. Hoyne Avenue)
Feb 20: Jefferson Park (5363 W. Lawrence Avenue)
March 20: Humboldt Park (1605 N. Troy Street)

RSVPs required!
